How do I upgrade to Studio?

You upgrade inside Plya, in the Upgrade to Plya Studio dialog. Only the studio's owner can upgrade.

Steps

Click Upgrade on the Basic card at the foot of the sidebar, or go to Settings → Billing and click Upgrade. The dialog also opens when you reach a Basic limit, and when you choose Studio as you sign up.
Choose Monthly ($39, billed every month) or Quarterly ($99, billed every 3 months).
Enter your card, or tap Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link above the card field. Apple Pay and Google Pay show when your device offers them.
Check the summary: Due today, with your deal if one applies, then the price after that. You can switch between Monthly and Quarterly without retyping your card.
Click Upgrade to Studio, or Start free trial if you have a free trial.

You'll see "You're on Studio", or "Your free trial has started". Basic's limits come off at once, Ash's 500 monthly credits start, and your plan shows in Settings → Billing a moment later. If you chose Studio as you signed up, Plya opens on Studio. If the dialog opened at a limit, what you were doing carries on: an import, for example, brings in the rest of the file.

Deals and free trials

Your studio's first plan comes with one deal at most, and the dialog shows it before you pay:

Launch deal: $18 for your first month, or $78 for your first quarter, until December 5, 2026.
Partner deal: if you signed up from a partner's link, $28 a month for your first two months, or $88 for your first quarter, in place of the launch deal.
Free trial: some invitations start Studio free for 30 days. You add a card, Due today is $0, and your first charge comes when the trial ends. The sign-up page says so when your invitation link has one.
