You pick a plan as the last step of signing up. Basic needs no card. Studio takes Basic's limits and its Plya fee off and gives Ash more credits. Both include every part of Plya. Atelier, the pro version of Studio, is coming, at $59 a seat a month. Settings → Billing shows it as Coming. Studios of 6 or more are on Business, a custom plan we set up with you, with priority support, invoice or PO billing and annual terms. Contact sales sends us a few lines about your studio (see contact sales), and Request a demo, on Atelier's line in Settings → Billing, books a 20-minute call to set your studio up together.

Prices

PlanPriceBilled
Basic$0Never
Studio, Monthly$39 a monthEvery month
Studio, Quarterly$99 every 3 months ($33 a month)Every 3 months

A studio that started Studio at an earlier price keeps paying that price.

Prices are in US dollars, before any sales tax. Checkout asks for your billing address and adds sales tax where it applies. Clients pay your invoices into your own Stripe account on every plan. On Basic, Plya keeps 2% of each invoice payment made online, on top of Stripe's processing fee. Studio has no Plya fee.

Launch deal

Upgrade to Studio by December 5, 2026, and your first charge is $21 off:

PlanFirst chargeThen
Monthly$18 for the first month$39 a month
Quarterly$78 for the first quarter$99 a quarter

The launch deal also includes a free setup call and a 30-day money-back guarantee. It applies once per studio. A studio that cancels and subscribes again after December 5, 2026 pays the regular price.

Partner deal

Some people who use Plya share a link to it. When you sign up from one of those links, Studio is $28 a month for your first two months, then $39 a month. On Quarterly, your first quarter is $88, then $99 a quarter. The plan dialog and the sidebar's Basic card show the partner deal in place of the launch deal, and it doesn't end on December 5, 2026. While it applies, your plan in Settings → Billing shows Partner deal. It replaces the launch deal and applies once per studio.

Free trial

Some invitations start Studio with a 30-day free trial. When your invitation link has one, the sign-up page says so above the form, the bar at the top of plya.app links you to sign up, and Studio on the Pricing page shows the trial in place of the launch deal. You still add a card, and nothing is charged until the trial ends. Then your plan renews at the regular price, $39 a month or $99 a quarter. A free trial replaces the launch deal and applies once per studio.

During the trial, your plan in Settings → Billing shows Free trial, "Free until" the day it ends, and the date and amount of your first charge. You can switch between Monthly and Quarterly once the trial ends. To stop before you're charged, click Cancel plan before the trial ends: Studio stays on until then, and the studio goes back to Basic with nothing charged.

Seats

A seat is one person in the studio, or one open invite. Studio's price covers 2 seats, and each seat after that is $39 a month ($99 a quarter on Quarterly), up to 5. When you upgrade with more people already in the studio, the plan dialog shows the total for all of them. Ash's credits grow with the seats: 250 more a month for each seat after the first 2.

The owner adds and removes seats in Settings → Billing, or adds one straight from an invite when every seat is taken. See adding and removing seats. Studios of 6 or more are on Business, a custom plan we set up with you, through Contact sales.

Reaching a Basic limit locks nothing you've made. Studio costs less than Basic once clients pay you more than $1,950 a month through Plya. See what the Basic plan includes.

Contact sales

For a studio of 6 or more, or one that would like help getting set up, plya.app/contact-sales sends Elliott a short note about your studio, to set up Business, the custom plan: your name, work email, organization, how many people are in it, what you need (more than one studio or brand, your records moved in for you, paying by invoice or PO, more control over who sees what), and anything else. Elliott emails you within a day.

The form opens from Contact sales on the pricing page under the plans, in the site's footer, on the get-started pages when your studio is 6 or more or you ticked something you'd like help with, and in Settings → Billing and Settings → Members once your studio outgrows its plan. Opened from the get-started pages, it starts with your answers filled in. Signed in, it starts with your email and studio name.

Where billing lives

Everything about your plan is in Settings → Billing:

  • Plan shows your plan and its status, such as "Basic", "Renews Nov 2", "Ends Nov 2" or, during a free trial, "Free until Nov 2".
  • Upgrade opens the plan dialog on Basic.
  • Basic plan shows your counts of projects, notes and contacts, on Basic.
  • Switch to Quarterly or Switch to Monthly changes your plan once you have one, after any free trial. See switching plans.
  • Manage billing opens Stripe's billing portal once you have a plan. That's where you change your card and see receipts.
  • Cancel plan cancels at the end of the period you've paid for. Keep my plan turns it back on before then.
  • Ash credits shows how many credits you've used and when they reset.

On Basic, a Basic card at the foot of the sidebar shows the limit you're closest to and an Upgrade button.

Only the studio's owner can upgrade or change the plan. Other people in the studio see "Only the studio's owner can change the plan."

Common questions

  • Do I need a card to start? No. Pick Basic when you sign up. Basic needs no card and has no end date.
  • What happens when I reach a limit? Nothing is locked. Creating the next one opens the plan dialog, and everything you've made stays editable.
  • Does Plya take a cut of my invoices? On Studio, no. On Basic, Plya keeps 2% of each invoice payment made online. A payment you mark as paid by hand carries no Plya fee, and Plya keeps its fee if you refund a payment.
  • Can I cancel any time? Yes. Your plan stays on until the end of the period you've paid for, then the studio goes back to Basic with everything kept. If you have more projects, notes or contacts than Basic includes, that area still opens and exports, and creating and editing in it pause until you archive down or upgrade.
  • Can I get a refund? Your first payment is refundable in full within 30 days.
