What is a lead?
Leads are the people you're chasing. Add them, put them on pipelines to track where they stand, and convert them to contacts.

A lead is a person you're chasing: a curator you'd love to show with, an editor, a buyer. A lead is a contact marked as a lead, so it lives in Network too and appears in pickers everywhere. Archived leads don't appear in pickers.
Leads count toward Basic's 50 contacts, the same as other contacts. At the limit, New lead opens the plan dialog. See what the Basic plan includes.
Where a lead stands
A lead has no stage of its own. Where they stand is the stage on each pipeline they're on, such as Galleries · Reached out. A lead can be on several pipelines at once, with a stage on each. Put a lead on a pipeline to start tracking them.
Add a lead
- In Outreach → Leads, click New lead.
- In New contact, tick Is lead.
- On an existing contact, click Make a lead.
- Add a new person as a target. They're created as a lead.
Work your leads
The Leads view switches between Board and Table.
- Board: No pipeline yet first, then one column per pipeline. A lead on two pipelines shows in both, with that pipeline's stage on the card. Drag a card onto a pipeline's column to add the lead there at its first stage. They stay on any pipeline they were already on. Click any card to open the lead. From a pipeline's column, that pipeline is at the top of their page.
- Table: a Pipelines column shows each pipeline the lead is on and the stage there. Filter by pipeline (or No pipeline yet) and search. Tick rows and click Add to pipeline to put them all on a pipeline at once.
A lead looks the same everywhere: photo, name, title and organization, email, then where they stand.
To take a lead off a pipeline, open them from that pipeline's card and click Remove from pipeline in the Pipeline section.
Right-click a lead for its actions. In No pipeline yet and the table, that's the lead's own list: Open, Add to pipeline…, Convert to contact and Archive contact. A card in a pipeline's column has that target's list, with Move to and Remove from pipeline.
Convert a lead to a contact
Click Convert to contact on the lead. They keep everything, including the pipelines they're on. Make a lead turns them back.
