Projects troubleshooting

Fixes for common project problems, as symptom, cause and fix.

I can't drag a project to another row

  • Cause: dragging changes status, so it works only when the page is grouped by Status.
  • Fix: set Group by (the rows icon at the top right) to Status, or change the priority or label inside the project.

I can't delete a status

  • Cause: projects still use it, or it's the last one left.
  • Fix: move those projects to another status first. Every studio keeps at least one status.

"The due date comes after the start date"

  • Cause: the due date is earlier than the start date.
  • Fix: pick a later due date. In an open project, moving one date past the other moves both.

"Enter an amount, like 1,200"

  • Cause: the value has letters or symbols Plya can't read.
  • Fix: type only the number.

"A project has one client"

  • Cause: a project's client is one contact or one organization.
  • Fix: pick the organization as the client and link the person under Contacts.

My cover didn't upload

  • Cause: covers are images only (JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF), up to 10 MB.
  • Fix: export a smaller JPG and try again.

Where are a project's files?

Can I search, sort or see a list of projects?

  • The Projects page groups and filters. It has no search, sort or table yet. Ask Ash to find a project by name, client or date.

Can I archive or duplicate a project?

A prompt says "Over the Basic projects limit"

  • Cause: your studio is on Basic and has more active projects than Basic includes, for example after a Studio plan ended. You can still view and search everything. Creating and editing projects pause.
  • Fix: click Archive down and archive or delete projects until the count reaches the limit. Or click Upgrade to Studio. See what the Basic plan includes.
